Tonight we are staying in Glenwood Springs, CO at a hotel call The Hotel Colorado. It dates back to 1893, and has a ton of history behind it. The lobby is beautiful, and felt very welcoming. We stumbled into the bar after we dropped our luggage in our room (picture above). We sat at the bar had and a good long talk with a school teacher named Donna, and a lovely bartender named Angie. They talked all about Glenwood Springs, and it’s surroundings.
It sounds like a wonderful place to experience, it’s such a shame we arrived so late, and have to leave so early. I noticed a massive mountain across the street as I peered through the dark while arriving at the hotel. There is even a hot spring across the street you can go take a dip in with the locals. This whole road trip has been exactly what I’ve needed. I’ve had such a lack of inspiration with my surroundings in Illinois. I love my friends and family there, but I love mountains. I love lush landscapes that can inspire. I love oceans, and massive green hills. Illinois just doesn’t offer that to me. I get up every morning and drive down the same dull highways, and sit in the same office chair, and deal with the same problems in a seemingly never ending cycle. I know the saying, “shit of get off the pot” applies to me here, as I could change all of this if I was motivated enough. This trip may not have been all the motivation I needed, but it definitely piled onto what I already had, and gave me one hell of an experience along the way. And to think it’s not even over yet. Anyways, I hope I can stay motivated in 2012 and really focus on one goal, rather then trying to satisfy the hundreds that fly into my brain each and every week.
